Richard MacCowan

Co-Founder/Director - Design + Innovation Consulting

A background in finance, development and design in the built environment. Now focusing on manufacturing, product innovation, relationship modelling & equine health technology. Richard is a member of Urban Design Group, a Living Building Challenge Ambassador and Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts.

Al Kennedy

Business Design Innovation

With an MA from the RCA and a 'One Planet' MBA from Exeter Business School. Al is a founding supporter of Project WildThing, an associate at Swarm and a member of the Biomimicry for Creative Innovation Network.

Ellie Banwell

Beatnik Scientist and Designer

A background in chemistry with further skills in design and engineering. Innovation consultant on bio-inspired design and the circular economy.

Nick Taylor-Buck

Sustainability Consultant

Researcher with Sheffield Urban Institute with a background in zoology and building surveying. An assessor for both BREEAM and LEED.


Jackie Malcolm

Graphic Designer + Educator

Associate Director CECHR and Senior Lecturer University of Dundee.

Will Lawson

Naturalist + Workshop Facilitator

A former game ranger in South Africa. Now a researcher with BBC Natural History Unit and a film producer with Plimsoll Productions. Currently in Antarctica filming with the BBC.

Ceire McGinley

Project co-ordinator + Chemical Engineer

With a Masters in Chemical Engineering and Business Management, Ceire's strengths are in green chemistry and design innovation.

Tim Mak

Natural Sciences + BioTechnology

Senior scientist at the Janssen Prevention Centre, London. Tim has worked around the world with various leading academic institutions.
